First Visit

The First Appointment

The First Appointment involves a complete orthodontic examination and a discussion with the patient allowing us to determine the basic nature of your orthodontic problem. During this complimentary visit, we will discuss the following:

  • Is orthodontic treatment needed, and how severe is the problem?
  • If treatment is needed, when is the best time to start?
  • What is the anticipated length of treatment time?
  • What is an estimate of the treatment costs?
  • What are the anticipated results?

Starting Treatment

If orthodontic treatment is indicated and the patient is ready to begin treatment, an appointment is made to obtain the following diagnostic records for a comprehensive treatment plan:

  • Orthodontic X-rays
  • Diagnostic plaster study casts of the teeth
  • Photographs of the face and teeth

After these orthodontic records are obtained, a treatment explanation and financial consultation appointment is scheduled. If it is convenient for you, all the above could be done in one visit.
